Poetry is so personal, the fact that you find something that begs your mind to have your fingers bang out words about it is what is required!

you've captured, I would say, an longing with positivity & hope, reminds me of Pablo Neruda's work, lovely and full of honest yearnings only a poem can describe

Hi:

You are doing a great service by popularizing and naming cleave poetry. But we were doing cleave poetry in Arlington Heights, IL in 1998. It was not in private, these were performances at Barnes and Noble bookstores, coffee houses and other sites. I don't know if the group still exists since I moved to New Mexico. I have posted my poem on your site. Keep up the good work. If you want to contact me, I am Richard Dates and my email is walrusblackhawk@hotmail.com. I am a board member of the El Morro Area Arts Council and we have a poetry group associated with our gallery.

Best Wishes.

The role of poet laureate certainly raises the profile of poetry, for good or ill. I wonder whether you've thought who you'd like to see as the next one? There must be lots of good role models. I am asking members of the blogosphere who they'd choose as the new poet laureate this May.

the ability to honour good poetry, order
duty and honour and then romanticise about it.

I love these poems; the technical mastery is disguised by the beauty of the words.

The last line(s) of the first poem sounded very slightly awkward
I think it is the word "of"
