Cleave poem: steak and red wine
2008 November 8
_________________________Steak and red wine
______________________The sirens whine-flames flash
_______and lights slice through smoke-heavy with the smell of steak
shrouding bodies littering the ground-charred at the edges.
__The policeman stalks a straight line-I swallow, I gulp
______________________________I wobble,-expensive
__________________booze on my breath-red wine
__________________and guilt in my guts-trying to conceal burnt meat.

That’s excellent, three very good poems in one.
